Spanish

Spanish is an adjective relating to Spain, its people, or their culture. The demonym for a denizen of Spain is “Spaniard”, but collectively the population of Spain may be referred to as “the Spanish”. Spanish also describes the chief language of Spain and many areas now or formerly under Spanish control. Other commonly used terms using this word include the Spanish Civil War, the Spanish‑American War, the Spanish Armada, and Spanish fly (a green beetle thought to be an aphrodisiac). Famous figures in Spanish history include Pablo Picasso, El Cid and Manuel de Falla.
