French language

The French language is the chief language of France as well as an official language in many countries, such as Belgium, Canada, Djibouti and Senegal. It is an official language of the European Union and of the United Nations. Stemming from the Romance branch of the Indo-European family, the French language today is spoken by millions of people as a first or second language. The French language was long used in diplomatic circles and lent diplomacy and politics many terms still in circulation today.
