When two or more parties exchange information, we call this communication. Communication encompasses a wide range of modes of expression: body language, smoke signals, knotted strings, written material, sign language – all these are kinds of communication. In the corporate world, communication also has many different aspects. Companies and their communicators must communicate to and with a host of stakeholders: employees, customers, shareholders, supervisory authorities, and the public at large. If that communication is not clear, companies may fail to deliver their intended messages, resulting in varying degrees of damage.
